If only money grew on trees in the backyard. If I had more money around Christmas time I would love to purchase this ibanez prestige, check it out at MusiciansFriend.com that I stumbled upon today. My nephew has been wanting an electric guitar for the past couple of years for Christmas, this year I would love to see his dream come true.
Spent some time online on the well known Guitar Center website the other night. I always find the coolest musical instruments and other music related products there that helps me get an idea of things that I can use for the numerous and never ending gifts that are needed to be given all year round.
I had never heard of “Auto-Tune” at first glance I assumed it was something that helped you tune your instrument but I quickly learned that it isn’t that at all. The first well known use of this Auto-Tune for vocals was when Cher belted out her famous song “Believe” which was recorded and released back in 1998. Something we would listen to on a record player much like the one you can find at http://www.guitarcenter.com/Crosley/Cruiser-Record-Player.gc.
Check out this video from YouTube of Cher’s well received song “Believe” where you can hear for yourself how this turns a “normal” voice sound like robotic vocoder-ized vocals which has become all the rage in the hip-hop and rap music that is so popular these days.
Man I just love YouTube!
It seems like there are still plenty of marching band products out there that are made by Tama. I remember when I did a short stint in our Junior High School Marching Band, Tama was a brand that we heard about and used a lot.
I am currently looking for a decently priced sound activated lights to purchase for my cousin Rachael for 15th Birthday. March is right around the corner and will be here in a blink of an eye. She is a Freshman in their local high school and it looks like she is totally into it and I would like to help nurture that aspect of her life, if and when possible.
It’s amazing all of the goodies that you can find online for musicians these days. I could spend hours and hours looking at them all, so many of them I really haven’t a clue as to what they are much less how to use them! Makes me feel old saying that, sigh…
For the past several months I drive my sister to her singing/voice lessons which in the part of town that has a good amount of quaint small town locally owned businesses, right at the far end of old town. If I forget to bring something to read and the weather isn’t being user friendly, I always have the option of taking a nice stroll around the few city blocks and enjoying the sights, the smell and the whole “warm and fuzzy” feeling that one gets when walking in the part of town that is just reeking of history, generations after generations of families who worked so hard to make a name for them selves in town and have managed to hold onto their small piece of the world through the good times as well as the bad times.
One of my favorite shops is all about crafts with various twines and paper goods along with packaging and other interesting baking tools and goods that today’s bakers can just go wild using on their baked goods! I have never been considered a good baker, but I’m not necessarily known for being the best either. I used to have a blast in the kitchen when my daughter was much younger and she actually wanted to spend time with me in the kitchen. Those days are long gone!
My all time favorite was to make and bake various types of Christmas cookies with her to give out to friends, neighbors, co workers and family members. We would even send a batch to school for her to give to her teacher as a holiday gift. We would use the recipe that my grandfather used from back in the day when he still lived in London as a boy. I have made sure that this recipe will never get lost and that it will forever be considered Grand Dad’s Special Christmas Cookies!
I’ve been encouraged by my sister-in-law to look into the mac recording hardware that she sent a link to at musician’s friend that is on the market these days. We are desperate to find the perfect gift for my niece for her high school graduation gift for this up and coming big event that the whole family is looking forward to in May 2017.
Since they live so far away from me I really don’t know him very well and was really struggling to find something that he would really appreciate and enjoy from me. Luckily my sister-in-law sent me the perfect link to where I could find this product online since I have no clue when it comes to audio interface and that all technical stuff available today.
Once again, thank goodness for the Internet it certainly helped save my butt this time around. I will have this in the bag in plenty of time. Now I need to start focusing more on Christmas!
