Movie Night

April 14th, 2010

I just discovered how easy it is to rent movies at the Redbox locations. I have seen them for about 2 years now, but with cable and a busy schedule, I haven’t worried about using any rentals. But now the TV shows are really lame and there’s not much to do at night until the weather is nicer.

Since I can rent a movie for just $1 for the night, it’s a bargain – actually it is cheaper than cable even if I rent a different movie every night of the month!

So I’m going to rent a movie from Redbox and have a movie night.

Stuck with Cable

We just realized that the little black and white TV and emergency broadcast radio combination does not work any more. Because there is no converter for this little TV set. Sigh.

New Shows

September 15th, 2009

Finally we have some of the new TV shows coming out with their season premieres. I like the way some of the popular shows are running the last one or episodes from last year before they show the new premiere. Especially when the last year’s show ended with a cliff hanger of someone getting shot or some other tragedy. I guess most of the cliff hangers are really about someone getting shot. Does this go back to the days of “Dallas” when they introduced the concept of “Who shot JR?”

Big Brother Countdown

August 26th, 2009

Only a handful of Big Brother contestants left. The drama queen was finally kicked out. Now the drama King is on the block. I can’t wait to see if Russell gets kicked to the curb or if he can campaign to save his skin. Personally, I hope they kick him out – he’s the biggest threat to the remaining players. Surely they are smart enough to realize that.

It Was Obvious

Of COURSE Adam Lambert is gay. Why are you surprised?

What does it matter anyway? He still sings and dances great and I love the twinkle in his eyes. He’s a great guy – gay or straight.

Prettiest Girls in L. A.

May 6th, 2009

I hate to watch the TV show, “The Price is Right.” That annoying bell that ding ding ding ding dings and the crowds who lose all self respect and jump up and down and act totally stupid just get on my nerves. It comes on my TV right after Rachel Ray, and if I’m not sitting right next to the remote control I sometimes have to suffer through the first few minutes of this gagmaker until I can get over to the TV and punch the OFF button.

But I WILL say, that those girls who strut around the stage with a big tooth whitened grin and gracefully pointing long slender fingers, always look MARVELOUS. Those girls have perfect hair, perfect makeup, perfect bodies and the most gorgeous dresses that I see on TV. So good job, TV producers!

Fav Show

November 12th, 2008

Somehow I came across a new show on the FX channel that I love. It is about Harley riders in California, called “Sons of Anarchy.” It’s a modern day sopa opera with some biker values and a lot of brutality and killings. So it is not really all that authentic. Bikers just do not go around killing people every week. But after it, it is Hollywood. It has some funny moments and a few authentic touches, but its too bad the writers don’t have a clue as to the real life. Scheduling sucks, too. It’s on tonight at the same time as my other favorite show on CBS. So I’ll watch my favorite show when it comes on and catch the SOA the next night “on demand.”
